Families pay you in the app after every job, and the money goes into your Wyndy Balance. You transfer it to your bank whenever you like, for $1.50 a transfer.
How a job turns into pay
-
Confirm your hours.
Tap End job on the booking and submit your start and end time. See Working a job. -
The family reviews and pays.
They get a "Time to pay" notification. They check your hours (and can change them), choose a tip, and pay. Your booking shows Waiting for Payment until then. -
If they don't pay, their card is charged automatically.
That happens 24 hours after you submit your hours. -
Your pay lands in your Wyndy Balance.
You get a notification with the amount, the booking moves to Completed, and the Jobs tab shows "You got paid" with the amount.
What you earn
You earn your hourly rate times the hours the family confirms, plus any tip. The hourly rate on a job card, in a job alert and on the job's PAYMENT SUMMARY is your pay per hour.
| Example | Amount |
|---|---|
| $20 an hour for 4 hours | $80 |
| Tip of 15% of your pay | $12 |
| You're paid | $92 |
The Estimated Pay you see before a job is your rate times the scheduled hours. If the job runs longer or shorter and the family confirms those hours, your pay changes to match.
Tips
Families choose a tip when they pay: 10%, 15% or 20% of your pay, or another amount. The tip is worked out on your pay, not on Wyndy's fees, and 100% of it goes to you.
Platform fee
With an active sitter subscription, there's no platform fee on your jobs. Without one, a platform fee comes out of your pay. See Sitter subscription.
Your Earnings screen
Go to Me, then Earnings. The card at the top shows:
- Wyndy Balance, the money you have, marked Available to transfer.
- Transfer to Bank, to move it to your bank account.
- "Payout transfers secured by Dots", the payments company that sends your money to your bank.
Under the card are your Jobs completed and what you Earned in the selected year. Tap the year to pick another one from Select Year.
Completed jobs lists every paid job for that year, newest first, with the family, the date and what you earned. Tap one to see its PAYMENT SUMMARY: your rate times the hours, the Tip, and the Total paid.
Transfer to your bank
-
Go to Me, then Earnings.
Check your Wyndy Balance. -
Tap Transfer to Bank.
A secure Dots screen opens inside the app. -
The first time, set up your payout account.
Dots asks you to confirm your identity, add your tax information, and choose where to send your money. You only do this once. -
Follow the Dots steps to send your balance to your bank.
Each transfer costs $1.50. Transfers typically arrive in a few business days.
Payment notifications
| Notification | When you get it |
|---|---|
| The family's name, then "paid you": "You earned {amount} for your job on {date}." | The family has paid and the money is in your Wyndy Balance. |
| "You have funds waiting": "You've been paid for your job on {date}. Set up your payout account to receive your funds." | You've been paid but haven't set up your payout account yet. |
| "Payment Received": "You've been paid. Your pending earnings are on the way to your account." | Your money is on its way to your bank. |
Pay when a family cancels
| What happens | What you're paid |
|---|---|
| The family cancels 24 or more hours before the start | Nothing. Cancelling that early is free for families. |
| The family cancels less than 24 hours before the start | A $20 cancellation fee. Your notification says it's on its way. |
| You arrive and the family is a no-show | 50% of the job total. |
Good to know
- The family can't pay until you submit your hours, so tap End job as soon as you finish.
- You don't need to do anything to collect a payment. It goes into your Wyndy Balance on its own.
- Your balance stays in your Wyndy account until you transfer it. Transfer as often or as rarely as you like.
- Earnings are grouped by the year of the job, so a job on December 31 counts toward that year.
Questions
When do I get paid?
As soon as the family pays, which is at most 24 hours after you submit your hours. Moving the money to your bank takes a few business days after you transfer.
The family changed my hours. Why?
Families check your hours before they pay and can correct them. If you think the hours are wrong, message the family or contact the care team from Me, then Help.
Does Wyndy take a cut of my tip?
No. 100% of the tip goes to you.
Why does Transfer to Bank ask for my tax information?
Dots needs it to send you payouts. You enter it once, the first time you transfer.
How much does a transfer cost?
$1.50 per transfer, whatever the amount.
