On this page

This page lists every fee on Wyndy, who pays it and when it's charged. Parents are never charged to post a job or book a sitter: you pay after the job, for the hours worked.

A worked example

Say you book a sitter at $20 an hour for 4 hours and leave the suggested 15% tip.

LineWithout a membershipWith a membership
$20 × 4 hours$80$80
Tip (15%)$12$12
Service fee$18.40$0
Processing fee$3.86$2.67
Total$114.26$94.67

On this job a member pays $19.59 less. The membership pays for itself after about 10 jobs like it in a year. Your sitter gets the same $92 either way.

Where you see the fees

  • When you post a job: the confirm screen shows rate × hours, Processing Fee, Service Fee and Est. Total. The estimate uses the hours you booked.
  • When you book your first sitter: the summary adds "Due today: $0". Adding a card doesn't charge it.
  • After the job: the wrap-up screen shows the final lines for the hours your sitter submitted, your tip and any Wyndy credit, then Total. You can edit the hours before you tap Pay & finish.
  • On the booked job: the cost panel shows the estimated total and "What {Sitter} earns". Without a membership, it also shows how much you'd save as a member.
  • Afterwards: a receipt is emailed to you. The job's Receipt has Share and Detailed PDF. Every paid job is listed under Me, then Account, then Payments, with what you spent each year.

Without a membership, the wrap-up screen also shows how much you could save on that job with Wyndy Membership.

Paying for a job

Nothing is charged when you post or book. When the job ends, your sitter submits their hours and you get a "Time to pay" notification. The wrap-up screen says "You can pay now or you'll be charged in 24 hours." If you don't pay, your card is charged automatically 24 hours after the hours were submitted.

Tips are optional. The app suggests 10%, 15%, 20% of your sitter's pay (not the fees), with 15% selected. You can tap Other amount or Remove tip.

Wyndy credit

Credit comes off your next booking automatically, and shows as its own line on the payment. You get credit from Invite friends (Give $20, get $20), and as a $10 credit if your sitter cancels within 24 hours of the start. There's no promo code field.

Sitters

FeeAmountWhen
Sitter subscription$19.99 a month, after a free trialMonthly, through the App Store or Google Play.
Platform feeNone with a subscription. Without one, a platform fee applies to your jobs. When the job is paid.
Transfer to your bank$1.50 per transferEach time you tap Transfer to Bank.
TipsNo fee. You keep 100% of tips.Paid with the job.
Late cancellationNo fee. It counts toward your reliability record instead. When you cancel less than 24 hours before the start.

When a family pays, your earnings land in your Wyndy balance. Transfer them to your bank whenever you like from Me, then Earnings, then Transfer to Bank. Transfers go through Dots and typically arrive within a few business days.

Say you work 4 hours at $20 and get a $12 tip, with a subscription. You earn $92, and transferring it all to your bank costs the $1.50 transfer fee. Transferring once for several jobs means you pay the transfer fee once.

If a family cancels within 24 hours of the start, you get their $20 cancellation fee. If you arrive and can't reach them, you get 50% of the job total.

Good to know

  • Members still pay the $20 late cancellation fee. The membership removes service fees, not cancellation fees.
  • The service fee cap is per job. A long job never has more than $20 in service fees.
  • If a payment doesn't go through, the app says "That payment didn't go through. Check your card and try again; you have not been charged." Change your card on the wrap-up screen and pay again.
  • If you change the hours on the wrap-up screen, the totals update before you pay.
  • Hourly rates can be from $16 to $150.

Questions

Am I charged when I book?

No. Booking shows "Due today: $0". You're charged after the job, for the hours worked.

Why is my total different from the estimate?

The estimate uses the hours you booked. The final total uses the hours your sitter submits, plus your tip, and you can edit the hours before paying.

Does the service fee apply to the tip?

Yes. Without a membership, it's 20% of pay plus tip, capped at $20 a job. Your sitter still gets 100% of the tip.

I have a question about a charge. Who do I ask?

Open the job and tap Questions about this charge?, or write to us from Me, then Help.

Still stuck? Open the Wyndy app and go to Me, then Help, or contact the Wyndy team.
