Deleting your account
What happens to your jobs, membership and data when you delete your account.
On this page
You can delete your Wyndy account from the app at any time. Deleting cancels your active jobs, applications and bookings, and you have 30 days to change your mind by logging back in.
Before you delete
- Cancel your membership. To avoid future charges, the app asks you to cancel an active membership before you delete. Do it from Me, then Membership.
- Check your upcoming jobs. Every active and upcoming job or booking is cancelled when you delete. Parents pay the $20 late cancellation fee for a booking that starts within 24 hours.
- Sitters: transfer your balance. If you have money in your Wyndy balance, move it to your bank from Me, then Earnings, then Transfer to Bank.
Delete your account
-
Go to Me, then Account, then Delete Account.
It's the last row, under Manage account. -
Review your active jobs, if you have any.
Parents see "Your active jobs will be canceled" and "Deleting your account will cancel all active and upcoming jobs." Sitters see "Your active job applications and bookings will be canceled." Tap Continue, or Nevermind to stop. -
Cancel your membership, if it's active.
The app shows "Your membership is still active" and "To avoid future charges, cancel your active membership before deleting your account." Tap Manage membership to cancel it, then come back. Or tap Continue to go on anyway. -
Tap Delete Account to confirm.
Tap Close if you change your mind.
You'll see "Your account is pending deletion." and "Log back in within 30 days to restore it." Tap Close. Wyndy also emails you when the deletion is requested and again when it's complete.
Steps 2 and 3 only appear when they apply. With no active jobs and no membership, you go straight to the confirmation.
If a booking starts within 24 hours (parents)
The active jobs screen adds a warning: "You have a booking starting within 24 hours. Canceling now will include a $20 fee." That's the usual late cancellation fee, and it goes to your sitter. To avoid it, wait until that job is done, then delete your account. See Cancelling a job.
If you're a sitter with bookings
Your bookings are cancelled along with your applications, and the families lose their sitter. Where you can, finish your booked jobs first, or cancel them yourself with as much notice as you can. See Cancelling and reliability.
Restore your account
Log back in with your phone number within 30 days of deleting, and your account is restored.
Good to know
- A parent profile and a sitter profile on the same phone number are separate. Deleting one doesn't delete the other. Delete each from its own Account screen.
- If you want a break, you don't need to delete. Turn off notifications and cancel your membership instead.
- Our privacy policy explains how Wyndy handles your data.
