Sitter profiles

What each part of a sitter's profile tells you, from verifications to reviews.

Updated Nov 3, 2026Reading time 6 min

On this page

A sitter's profile is everything Wyndy knows and they've shared: their rating, experience, education, the ages they work with, reviews from other families, and every check they passed. Open one from the Sitters tab, search, your Favorites, a chat, or a job's applicants.

The top of the profile

The profile opens on the sitter's photo, with their name and a verified mark beside it. Tap the photo to see it full screen. Under the name, a row of numbers sums them up at a glance.

You seeWhat it means
A star and a number, such as 4.9 ratingTheir average rating from families who've booked them, out of 5.
New to WyndyNo family has rated them yet. It takes the rating's place.
A bookings count, such as 14 bookingsJobs they've completed on Wyndy. Shown once they have 10 or more, or when they have bookings but no years of experience listed.
Years, such as 3+ yrs experienceTheir total babysitting experience. Shown instead of bookings for sitters with fewer than 10.
Background-checked, framed by laurelsThey passed every Wyndy check. Tap it to see which ones.

Tap New to Wyndy, Background-checked or most of the details further down to see a plain explanation, such as "Sarah is new to Wyndy and hasn't been rated yet." On Background-checked, swipe up to see the full list of checks. When you can message the sitter, these explanations also offer Message with their name.

The buttons under the numbers

  • Favorite adds them to your Favorites. It changes to Favorited; tap again to remove them.
  • Message opens a chat. If you haven't booked them, you need a membership and a verified ID first (see below).
  • Share makes a shareable card of their profile.

Each section, in order

Your history with them

If you've booked this sitter before, a card at the top says how often, such as "You've booked Sarah 3 times", with the date of the last job and the next one if there is one. Tap Book again to post a job for them. If they're booked with you now but you haven't finished a job together yet, it says they're booked with you.

About

What the sitter wrote about themselves, in their own words.

The facts card

Short facts appear as small labels, longer ones as rows. Only the ones the sitter filled in are shown.

Reviews

Written reviews from families who've booked them, in a row you can swipe. Each shows the family's name, their star rating and what they wrote. If there are more than fit, tap See all to read every one. The section only appears once someone has written a review; star ratings without text count toward the rating at the top.

Childcare Experience

  • Babysitting experience. A total, such as "4+ years", split into On Wyndy (since the month they joined, with their bookings count, or a New label for recent sitters) and Before Wyndy (paid babysitting they reported when they applied, marked "self reported").
  • Ages Supported. Four age groups, with the ones they work with highlighted: Infant (0 to 1), Toddler (1 to 4), Young Children (4 to 9) and Older Children (9 and up). If you've saved your kids, a line checks them against it, such as "A fit for all your kids", or names any child outside the ages they work with.
  • Capabilities. Needs they're comfortable supporting, such as ADHD or autism.
  • Certifications. Such as CPR or first aid. Certifications are self reported by all Wyndy sitters.

Wyndy Verified

A card with the sitter's name, photo and the month they joined, plus a Wyndy Member line if they have the sitter subscription. Every sitter on Wyndy completes a multi-step verification before they can work with families. Tap a check to read what it covers.

CheckWhat it covers

More options

Tap the ⋯ at the top right. A sheet shows the sitter's name, rating and bookings, with these options:

  • Message, the same as the button under the numbers.
  • Add to Favorites or Remove from Favorites.
  • Report opens Report Profile. Tell Wyndy why and tap Send.
  • Block asks you to confirm. Blocking prevents the sitter from interacting with you on Wyndy, and you can undo it in your account settings. Tap Confirm Block.

See Blocking and reporting.

Share a profile

  1. Tap Share under the sitter's numbers.

A card appears with their photo, name, Background checked, and their rating, bookings or experience.
  2. Tap Share card to send it as a picture, or Copy to copy the link.

The link is a wyndy.com page for the sitter's profile. Tap Done when you're finished.

Good to know

  • Sections can be missing. A section only appears if the sitter has something in it, so a new sitter's profile is shorter.
  • The name at the top. As you scroll, the sitter's name moves into the bar at the top so you always know whose profile you're on.
  • Blocked sitters. If you've blocked a sitter, their profile says Blocked and that you can unblock them in your account settings.
  • What sitters see. Sitters see the same profile you do. Their own View Profile shows them exactly this page.

Questions

Why does a sitter say New to Wyndy instead of a rating?

No family has rated them yet. Their profile still shows their experience and every check they passed.

Are certifications verified?

No. Certifications are self reported by all Wyndy sitters, and the profile says so under them. The checks under Wyndy Verified are the ones Wyndy runs.

Why can't I message this sitter?

Messaging a sitter you haven't booked needs a membership and a verified ID. You can always message a sitter you have an active booking with.

Still stuck? Open the Wyndy app and go to Me, then Help, or contact the Wyndy team.
