Recurring care
Set up a weekly schedule that starts with a trial job.
On this page
Recurring care is for a regular schedule, like every weekday after school or Tuesday and Thursday evenings. You post it as one trial job on your first date, with the days you'll need going forward, and if the trial goes well you and the sitter keep working together.
How it works
- You post a recurring job: a trial date, the hours, and the days of the week you'll need care going forward.
- Sitters who apply confirm they're free for the trial date and can regularly work your schedule.
- You book one of them for the trial date, the same way you book any job.
- After the trial, you review the hours and pay for that one date.
- If it was a great fit, you and your sitter set up an ongoing schedule that works for you both.
Wyndy books and charges the trial date only. The days you pick tell sitters what you're looking for; they don't create a booking for every week.
Post a recurring job
-
Tap Post a job on the Jobs tab.
Or start from a sitter's profile to include them. -
Tap Recurring at the top of the first screen.
A sheet explains Recurring care, made simple: start with a trial date, then keep working together if it's a good fit. It also notes that all sitters who apply should be available for your recurring needs. Tap Choose trial date. -
Pick your trial date and times.
The screen title changes to Select trial date. Pick the first day you need care, then the Start time and End time. Use the hours your regular days will have, so sitters know what they're signing up for. -
Choose the days you'll need care going forward.
On Select recurring days, tick each day, from Mondays to Sundays, then tap Continue. -
Finish the post as usual.
Pick the kids, describe the job, add the address, set the rate and choose who to post it to. See Posting a job. -
Check the Job Summary and tap Post Job.
The summary has a RECURRING CARE section listing your days. Tap it to change them. The PAYMENT SUMMARY is for the trial date only.
When it's posted, the screen lists what's next: sitters will apply, browse applicants, book your trial job, and then, if it's a great fit, keep working together.
What sitters see and agree to
Your job shows in sitters' feeds with a Recurring care opportunity card listing your days. When a sitter applies, they confirm each of these before they can send it:
- They're available to work on your trial date and time.
- They've reviewed and are willing to work with you.
- They can regularly work on your recurring days.
They also see a Confirm application sheet asking "Are you available for the trial date and the recurring schedule below?", with your START DATE and RECURRING SCHEDULE. So everyone who applies has said they can do the ongoing days, not just the first one.
Book the trial
Applicants arrive the same way as on any job. When you tap Confirm Booking on a sitter, the sheet says Book {name} for your trial date; tap Book for trial date. The confirmation then reads "{name} is booked for your trial date" and calls it the first step toward ongoing care.
See Applicants and booking for comparing applicants, the first-booking steps, and what happens after you book.
How the job is labelled
| When | Label on the job | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Before the trial is paid | Trial job for {days} care | Trial job for weekday care |
| After the trial is paid | Recurring {days} care | Recurring Mon, Wed & Fri care |
The days are written the short way when they fit a pattern: daily for all seven, weekday for Monday to Friday, weekend for Saturday and Sunday, and the day's name when it's just one. While the trial is coming up, the job's page also reminds you that it's a trial and that, if it goes well, you can set up regular care together.
After the trial
When your sitter submits their hours, you review and pay for the trial date like any job; see Paying and tipping. Once you've paid, the app asks Was it a great fit? and offers a link to message your sitter.
From there, you and your sitter agree on how to carry on. To book them for another date in the app, open their profile and tap Book again, or tap Post a job on their profile. On the Post to step, they're ticked at the top. Leave everything under Also post to... unticked to send it only to them.
What it costs
A recurring job is priced like any other job: your hourly rate times the hours worked, plus the processing fee, plus the service fee without a membership (20% of the job, never more than $20). Each job you book later is charged on its own, after it's done. If you'll be booking the same sitter every week, the membership removes the service fee on every one of those jobs.
Good to know
- Switching back. Tap One-time on the first screen to turn a recurring post back into a one-time job. Your chosen days are cleared.
- Nobody applies. A recurring job that isn't booked by its trial date closes as unfilled, like any job. Post it again with a new trial date.
- Cancelling the trial. The usual cancellation rules apply: free 24 or more hours before the start, and a $20 fee after that. See Cancelling a job.
Questions
Am I committing to weekly bookings?
No. You're booking and paying for the trial date only. What happens after is up to you and your sitter.
Can I choose a sitter I already know?
Yes. Start the post from their profile with Post a job, tap Recurring, and leave everything under Also post to... unticked on the Post to step so only they see it.
Can I change the days after posting?
You can change them on the Job Summary before you post. After posting, talk with your sitter about any changes to the ongoing schedule.
