Your privacy

What other people can see about you, and when.

On this page

Wyndy shows other people only what they need, when they need it. Your address, your phone number and your kids' names stay hidden until a sitter is actually booked on your job.

Before and after a booking

The biggest change in what people can see happens when a sitter is booked. A booking that's later cancelled doesn't count.

When you add an address, the app says so: "Your address will only be shared with booked sitters." On a booked job, the details you gave your sitter are marked "This information was provided to {Sitter}." The same rule works the other way. A sitter's phone number is visible only to families who have booked them.

What sitters see on a parent profile

Open Me and tap Edit Profile under your name. The editor groups your details by who can see them.

About Your FamilyName and BioSitters, as your first name and last initial ("Sitters see your first name and last initial.").
FamilyKids"Only booked sitters can see your kids."
Work & EducationWork, College and Greek AffiliationSitters, if you fill them in. All three are optional.
Only Visible to YouHometown and Religious AffiliationOnly you. "Sitters never see your hometown or religious affiliation."

On your own profile, a section only booked sitters get carries the note "Only booked sitters can see this section." Once you've verified your ID, sitters see ID Verified, but never your ID or your selfie.

What parents see on a sitter profile

Parents see what a sitter adds to their profile: photo, bio, experience, education and extras like hometown, high school, activities and Greek affiliation. They also see the sitter's rating, reviews and verifications. They don't see the SSN or driver's license number a sitter gives for the background check, and they see a sitter's name as first name and last initial.

Things only you can see

  • Your saved Locations and the notes on them. A booked sitter sees only the address on their job.
  • Your payment card and your payment history.
  • Your email address.
  • The messages you star in a chat. Stars stay on your phone.

Keep contact details in the app

When you write your job description, the app reminds you: "For your privacy, never share personal contact information here." Your address and number reach the sitter automatically once they're booked, so there's no need to post them.

See Messaging for when chats open and close.

Good to know

  • If you connect Planning Center (under Me, then Account), the sitters you book are added to your People there. Disconnecting stops future syncing.
  • When you delete your account, it's pending deletion for 30 days first. Logging back in during that time restores it. See Deleting your account.
  • Blocking a sitter hides your jobs from them and stops messages. See Blocking and reporting.

Questions

When does a sitter get my address?

When you book them. Sitters still deciding whether to apply see an approximate location on the map, never your street address.

Can sitters see my kids' names?

Only a sitter you've booked, on your profile. Other sitters see ages and the needs you list, so they can tell if the job suits them. The children form labels the name "Only visible to you", but a booked sitter does see each child's first name.

Who can see my religious affiliation?

Only you. It's in the "Only Visible to You" group with your hometown.
