Draft jobs
Pick up a job post you started and didn't finish.
On this page
A job you start posting and don't finish is kept as a draft, so you can come back to it later without starting over. Drafts are private: no sitter sees a draft or gets an alert about it until you post it.
How drafts are saved
The job is created when you finish the first step, When do you need care?, and tap Continue. From then on, each step saves its answer when you tap Continue. You don't have to do anything else to keep your progress.
- If you leave the app part way through a step, what you've entered on that screen is saved as the app goes to the background.
- If you close the posting yourself, the app asks what to do with it (below).
- If you close before finishing the first step, there's nothing to save yet, so the app closes without asking and no draft is made.
If a step can't be saved, for example because you're offline, you'll see "We couldn't save that" and "Check your connection and try again." Your answers stay on the screen so you can tap Continue again.
Close a job you're posting
-
Tap the X in the top corner of any posting step.
A menu opens. -
Pick an option.
Save as draft saves the screen you're on and closes the posting. Delete throws the draft away. Cancel keeps you where you were.
Closing takes you back to where you started: the Jobs tab, or the sitter's profile if you started from their Post a job button.
Find your drafts
There are two ways in:
- From the Jobs tab. When you have a draft, a banner at the top says how many are waiting, such as "1 unfinished job is waiting in Drafts". Tap it to open your drafts. Tap the X on the banner to hide it until you next open the app.
- From the Me tab. Tap Me, then Draft Jobs.
The Drafts screen lists every draft whose start time is still ahead, soonest first. Pull down to refresh it. If you have none, it says "Your unfinished jobs will show up here."
What each draft card shows
| Part of the card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Badge | Draft |
| Date and time | The day and time you picked. A draft without a date says "Date not specified". |
| Location | The address you chose, or "No location" if you stopped before the Location step. |
| Recurring jobs | "Recurring care job" in place of the address. |
| Options | Opens the menu to delete the draft. |
Finish a draft
-
Tap the draft.
It opens at the first step, When do you need care?, with everything you entered already filled in. -
Tap Continue through each step.
Change anything you like on the way. The steps are the same as a new post: when, the days (for recurring care), who needs care, the job description, location, hourly rate and who to post it to. -
Check the summary and tap Post Job.
The draft becomes a posted job, leaves your Drafts list and shows up in the Jobs tab. Sitters are notified.
Every step is explained in Posting a job.
Delete a draft
-
Tap Options on the draft.
Then tap Delete draft. Go back closes the menu. -
Confirm.
The app asks "Are you sure you want to delete this draft?" Tap Yes, delete, or No, keep it.
A deleted draft can't be brought back. You'd post the job again from scratch.
Good to know
- Drafts with a start time in the past are hidden. They don't appear in Drafts or in the banner. Post a new job for a new date instead.
- The start time is checked again when you post. If the time you picked has passed by the time you finish, you'll see "That start time has passed" and "Pick a later time today, or another day."
- Who you post to isn't saved in a draft. When you finish one, you choose again at the Post to step, which opens on the last answer you picked there (or All sitters). If you have no favorites and haven't booked a sitter before, that step is skipped and the job goes to All sitters. Check the POSTING TO line on the summary before you post.
- A draft started from a sitter's profile loses that link when you reopen it. The sitter isn't pinned to the top of the Post to step. To send a job only to that sitter, start again from their profile.
- Drafts cost nothing. You're never charged for posting a job, let alone a draft.
Questions
I closed the app halfway through. Did I lose my job?
No, as long as you got past the first step. Open Me, then Draft Jobs, and tap it to carry on.
Why isn't my draft in the list?
Either its start time has passed, or you closed the posting before finishing the first step, so it was never saved.
Can sitters see my draft?
No. A draft isn't posted. Sitters only see the job, and get alerts about it, once you tap Post Job.
