Locations and availability

Locations & availability sets where you're based, how far you'll travel, and the times you want job alerts for. Availability only controls alerts: you still see every job in your area in the Jobs tab.

Open the screen

1. Open the Me tab.

   It's the last tab at the bottom of the app.

2. Tap Locations & availability.

   The screen has three sections: Current Location, Distance and Availability.

You can also tap the location at the top of the Jobs tab. That opens the same location and distance settings, without availability.

Current Location

Your current location is where distances are measured from, in your Jobs feed and on every job ("3 miles away from you"). You can save several locations, for example campus and home, and switch between them.

1. Tap your current location, or + add a location if you don't have one.

   This opens your saved locations, with the current one first.

2. Tap another saved location to make it current.

   The switch happens right away and takes you back.

3. To add one, tap + add a location and search for the address.

   Pick it from the results. If the result is missing details, the app asks you to complete the address, then tap Continue.

Distance

Tap the distance row to choose how far you'll travel for a job. The choices are:

• Jobs within 1 mile
• Jobs within 5 miles
• Jobs within 10 miles
• Jobs within 25 miles
• Jobs within 50 miles

Your Jobs feed lists open jobs within that distance of your current location. A wider distance means more jobs and longer trips.

Availability

Pick the times you want job alerts for. Each day, Sundays through Saturdays, has three choices: Morning, Afternoon and Evening.

• Tap a time to turn it on, and tap it again to turn it off.
• Select all turns on every time on every day. Once everything is on, the button reads Unselect all.
• For example, if you have class on weekday mornings, turn on Monday to Friday afternoons and evenings, plus all of Saturday and Sunday.

Save your changes

Tap Save at the bottom. Your distance and availability are saved together, and the screen closes. The button stays grey until you have a current location and a distance.

Good to know

• Distance and availability belong to the location you've selected. Each saved location can have its own settings.
• Availability decides when job alerts reach you. It doesn't hide jobs from your Jobs feed.
• The Nearest sort in the Jobs tab only appears once you have a current location.
• A job that's less than a mile away shows as 1 mile.

Questions

I'm not getting job alerts. What should I check?

Make sure notifications are on for Wyndy in your phone's settings, and that you've picked some times under Availability. If your alerts are off, the Jobs tab shows "Turn on alerts to never miss a job" with an Enable button.

Will I miss jobs outside the times I picked?

No. You still see them in your Jobs feed. You won't get an alert for them.

I'm home for the summer. What do I change?

Add your home address as a location and make it current. Switch back to your campus location when you return.
