Wyndy Membership

The Wyndy Membership removes the service fee on every job, lowers card processing, and lets you message sitters before you book and after a job ends. There are two plans: annual, at $191.99 a year (about $16 a month), and monthly, at $40 a month with $10 in Wyndy credit every month. Every new parent starts with one at sign-up: the 7-day free trial of the annual plan, or a paid plan that comes with credit.

What's included

The app lists three member perks: "Message sitters before booking", "Keep chatting after a job" and "No service fees". Here's how that compares with paying per job.

The perks are the same on both plans. If you cancel, or your membership ends, you can still post jobs, book and pay per job.

What it costs

Both are billed through the App Store or Google Play, and the app shows the price in your local currency. Wyndy credit comes off your bookings automatically. Monthly credit rolls over while you're a member, and unused credit from either plan expires when your membership ends.

Here's a worked example. A 4-hour job at $20 an hour with a 15% tip costs $114.26 without a membership and $94.67 with one. That's $19.59 saved, so the membership pays for itself in about 10 jobs like that. See Paying and tipping for the full breakdown.

Join

You'll see the membership offered in several places. Each one leads to the same purchase.

1. Go to Me, then Membership.

   The screen lists the perks, the length of your free trial and the price after the trial.

2. Tap Start free trial.

   Under the button: "You won't be charged until" the date your trial ends, and "Cancel anytime before your trial ends."

3. Confirm with the App Store or Google Play.

   Your phone's own payment sheet opens. Confirm there.

4. Tap Continue.

   A screen confirms your membership has started and how long the free trial lasts. Service fees drop off right away, including on a wrap-up you have open.

At sign-up, the membership screen comes near the end and has no Skip. Pick Annual or Monthly. On Annual, leave Free trial on and tap Start free trial, or turn it off and tap Pay today & get $100 to pay for the year now and get $100 in Wyndy credit. On Monthly, tap Subscribe. If you've had a membership before

The free trial is for new members. If you've used it, the screen says "Renew your membership to unlock all the perks." with the price and "Cancel anytime". Tap Renew membership and confirm with the App Store or Google Play.

Check your membership

Go to Me. The Membership row shows a short status:

Tap the row to open the membership screen. A card shows your name, Wyndy Membership, "Member since" and the year, and a status of Active, Cancelled or Expired. Under it you'll see the key date ("Trial ends", "Renews on", "Ends" or "Your membership ended", with the date), how you're billed (App Store, Google Play or Card), and Your member perks.

Cancel

1. Go to Me, then Membership.

   You'll see your membership card and details.

2. Tap Cancel Membership.

   The app asks "Are you sure you want to cancel?" Tap Keep membership to back out.

3. Tap Cancel membership.

   What happens next depends on how you pay (see below).

After you cancel, the screen says "You can keep booking with no service fees until your membership ends. After that, you can still use Wyndy and pay per job." Nothing is taken away early.

When a membership ends

The card turns to Expired with "Your perks are waiting", and the perks list is titled What you're missing. From then on, jobs have a service fee and the higher processing rate. Chats with sitters close 24 hours after each job's scheduled end, and you can only message sitters you've booked. To come back, tap the card or Renew Membership.

Good to know

• New phone? Tap Restore Purchases on the membership screen to bring a store membership back to the app.
• Deleting your account doesn't stop store billing. Cancel the membership first so you aren't charged again. See Deleting your account.
• Joining during a wrap-up updates the total. The wrap-up shows "Wyndy Membership is active. Updating your total…" and then the lower total.
• Messaging after a job, without a membership. Your chat shows the time it closes and a Become a member link. Once it closes, the chat says to become a member to keep messaging that sitter.

Questions

Will I be charged when my trial ends?

Yes, for the year, unless you cancel before the trial ends. The membership screen shows "Trial ends" with the date.

Do members pay the $20 late cancellation fee?

Yes. The membership removes service fees, not cancellation fees. The fee goes to your sitter.

Can I switch between paying per job and the membership?

Yes. Join any time from Me, then Membership. If you cancel, you keep the perks until the end of the period you paid for, then pay per job.

I cancelled. Why do I still have the perks?

A cancelled membership lasts until the end of the period you paid for. The membership screen shows Cancelled and "Ends" with the date, and the row on the Me tab says "Member until" with that date.
