Your parent profile

What sitters see about you, and how to edit it.

Updated Nov 3, 2026Reading time 5 min

On this page

Your parent profile is what a sitter sees when they tap your name on a job or in a chat. It shows your first name and last initial, your photo and the family details you choose to add, while your hometown and religious affiliation stay private to you and only sitters you've booked see your kids.

See your profile

Tap Me, then View Profile. You see your profile the way sitters do, with an Edit Profile button under your name. You can also tap Edit Profile under your name at the top of the Me tab to go straight to the editor.

Until your profile is complete, a Profile strength card near the top shows how complete it is as a percentage and lists what's left to add, such as "Add a profile photo", "Write a few sentences about your family", "Add your kids", "Add where you work", "Add your college" and "Add your hometown". Tap one to fill it in.

Your hometown and religious affiliation appear on your own view of your profile, but sitters never see them. If you haven't verified your ID, sitters see "Not yet verified" under your name. If you've added very little, they see "This parent has shared only the essential profile details for now."

Where sitters find your profile

Sitters can open your profile from a job they're looking at or booked for, and from your chat. Once you've booked a sitter, their view of your profile also shows your kids and adds Message and Call buttons, with a note saying how long they can message you.

Edit your profile

  1. Tap Me, then Edit Profile.

Or tap Edit Profile on your profile.
  2. Tap a row to change it.

Each detail opens on its own page with a question and an example. Tap Done on that page to keep the change.
  3. Tap Done at the top to save.

It stays greyed out until your first and last name are both filled in. Cancel leaves without saving.

If you try to leave with changes you haven't saved, the app asks "Discard your changes?". Tap Keep Editing to go back, or Discard to throw them away.

On your own profile you can also tap a single fact, such as your work, and then Edit to change only that field.

Everything you can edit

SectionFieldWhat the app asks
TopPhotoAdd a photo or Change photo.
About Your FamilyName"What's your name?" First and last name, both required. "Sitters see your first name and last initial."
Bio"Tell sitters about your family": your kids, what they love, your routines, and anything that helps a sitter connect with you.
FamilyKidsOpens your Children list. "Only booked sitters can see your kids."
Work & EducationWork"Where do you work?"
CollegePick your college from the list.
Greek Affiliation"Were you in a sorority or fraternity?"
Only Visible to YouHometown"Where are you originally from?"
Religious Affiliation"Are you part of a church or faith community?"

Everything except your name is optional. Leave a field empty and it doesn't appear on your profile.

Writing your bio

A bar under the bio box fills as you type. Until it's full it counts down, such as "40 more characters to fill your bio card". At 100 characters it says "Great length. Sitters get a real sense of your family". For example: "We're a family of four in Midtown. Our girls are 3 and 6, love art projects and go to bed at 7:30."

Your kids

Kids are managed on their own screen: Me, then Children. See Children and locations.

Verify your ID

If you haven't verified yet, your own profile shows Verify Your ID under your name. Tap it to start the one-time check. While it's being processed, it reads Verification in Progress. Once you're verified, the ID Verified badge appears for sitters. See ID verification for parents.

Good to know

  • Your full last name isn't shown to sitters. They see your first name and last initial.
  • "Lives in" comes from your current address. Sitters see the city and state, not the street. Your exact address goes only to a sitter you book.
  • The Wyndy Member fact only shows to sitters. Your own preview leaves it off, even when your membership is active.
  • Your rating is hidden until a sitter rates you. Sitters rate the family from 1 to 5 stars after a job.

Questions

Can sitters see my kids' names before I book?

No. The Kids section only shows to you and sitters you've booked. A sitter looking at a job sees the children it's for, by age, on the job itself.

Why is the Done button greyed out?

Your first or last name is empty. Both are required.

Does a fuller profile help?

Sitters decide whether to apply partly on who the family is. A photo, a bio and a few facts give them more to go on.
