Terms and policies
Where to find the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Messaging Terms, in the app and on the web.
On this page
Wyndy has three legal documents: the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and the Messaging Terms. The app links to the first two from a Legal screen, and all three are on wyndy.com, where they're always the current version.
Find them in the app
| Profile | Where |
|---|---|
| Parent | Me, then Legal |
| Sitter | Me, then Account, then Legal |
The Legal screen has two rows. Terms of use opens the Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy opens the Privacy Policy, both on wyndy.com. The Messaging Terms aren't linked in the app; they're on the website.
The three documents
| Document | What it covers | On the web |
|---|---|---|
| Terms of Use | The agreement for using Wyndy: who can use it, how the service works, account security, prohibited uses, transportation and driving, the cancellation and refund policy, text messages and phone calls, and how disputes are handled, including arbitration. | Terms of Use |
| Privacy Policy | What personal information Wyndy collects, how it's used and shared, what other users and the public can see, your options, security, and children's privacy. | Privacy Policy |
| Messaging Terms | The Wyndy SMS Alerts program: which texts you get, how often, what they cost, and how to stop them. | Messaging Terms |
When you agree to them
- When you start. The first screen of the app, with Find childcare and I'm a sitter, says "By continuing, you agree to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service." Terms of Service there is the same document as the Terms of Use.
- When a sitter applies to a job. One of the commitments you confirm says that if the booking includes driving, you have a valid license and auto insurance and agree to the Driving Terms. Tapping Driving Terms opens the Transportation and Driving section of the Terms of Use. See Applying to jobs.
- During the sitter application. The background check step includes its own disclosures and an authorization you sign. See Applying to Wyndy.
Text messages from Wyndy
Under the Messaging Terms, Wyndy may text you about job postings, sitter responses and bookings, your account and payments, and offers.
- Cost. Wyndy doesn't charge for texts. Your carrier's message and data rates may apply.
- How often. It depends on your activity, and can be several a week.
- Stop them. Reply STOP to any Wyndy text. You get one confirmation, then no more texts unless you opt in again.
- Get help. Reply HELP, or email support@wyndy.com.
- Marketing is optional. Agreeing to marketing texts isn't required to use Wyndy.
Texts are separate from the app's push notifications, which you control in your phone's settings. See Notifications.
Good to know
- The web versions are the current ones. Each page shows the date it was last changed at the top.
- Cancellations. The Terms of Use include a Cancellation and Refund Policy section. In the app, open a booked job and tap Cancellation policy to see the rules for that job. See Cancelling a job and Cancelling and reliability.
