The Wyndy Membership costs $191.99 a year and removes the service fee from every job. Whether it pays off depends on how often you book: this guide works it out for six common patterns, with the same fee rules the app uses.
This guide works with the annual plan. There's also a monthly plan at $40 a month, with $10 in Wyndy credit every month you pay, so it costs $30 a month once you use the credit. It suits a busy stretch, like a summer of sitting. See Wyndy Membership.
What changes with a membership
| Without membership | With membership | |
|---|---|---|
| Service fee | 20% of your sitter's pay plus tip, capped at $20 a job | None |
| Processing fee | 3.5% | 2.9% |
| Messaging sitters before booking | No | Yes |
| Chatting after a job | Chat closes 24 hours after the job's scheduled end | Yes |
| Late cancellation fee | $20, paid to your sitter | $20, the same |
| Your sitter's pay and tip | The same either way | |
The app lists the perks as "Message sitters before booking", "Keep chatting after a job" and "No service fees". See Wyndy Membership for the details.
One job, both ways
Here's a 4-hour job at $20 an hour with a 15% tip.
| Without membership | With membership | |
|---|---|---|
| Sitter's pay | $80 | $80 |
| Tip | $12 | $12 |
| Service fee | $18.40 | $0 |
| Processing fee | $3.86 | $2.67 |
| Total | $114.26 | $94.67 |
That's $19.59 saved on one job. At that rate, the membership pays for itself after 10 jobs like it in a year.
Six ways families book
Each row uses a typical rate and tip for that kind of care. "After the membership" is what you save in a year once the $191.99 is paid.
| Pattern | Each job | Jobs a year | Saved per job | Saved a year | After the membership |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Occasional sitting A few evenings a year |
$20/hr for 5 hours, 15% tip | 4 | $21.39 | $85.56 | $106.43 more than paying per job |
| Monthly date night One evening a month |
$20/hr for 4 hours, 15% tip | 12 | $19.59 | $235.08 | $43.09 saved |
| Two date nights a month Every other weekend |
$25/hr for 4 hours, 15% tip | 24 | $21.39 | $513.36 | $321.37 saved |
| Weekly after-school care One afternoon a week, 36 school weeks |
$20/hr for 3 hours, 15% tip | 36 | $14.70 | $529.20 | $337.21 saved |
| After-school, three days a week Three afternoons a week, 36 school weeks |
$20/hr for 3 hours, 15% tip | 108 | $14.70 | $1,587.60 | $1,395.61 saved |
| Weekly nanny Three full days a week, 48 weeks |
$25/hr for 8 hours, 10% tip | 144 | $22.02 | $3,170.88 | $2,978.89 saved |
What the numbers say
- A few jobs a year: paying per job is cheaper. The membership's messaging perks may still be worth it to you, but the fees alone won't cover it.
- About one job a month: it roughly breaks even or comes out a little ahead, depending on the length of your jobs.
- Every week or more: the membership saves you money by a wide margin. On long days the service fee hits the $20 cap, so each job saves at least that much.
Check your own numbers in the app
You don't have to work this out by hand. The app shows the saving on your actual jobs.
- On a booked job, the cost panel says "Save an estimated" amount "on this job by becoming a Wyndy Member", with Join.
- At the wrap-up, non-members see "You could save" the amount "on this job with Wyndy Membership."
- Under Me, then Account, then Payments, you can see how much you spent and how many jobs you completed each year.
Count your jobs from last year, multiply by the saving per job, and compare it with $191.99.

"You can keep booking with no service fees until your membership ends. After that, you can still use Wyndy and pay per job."
Current prices and the trial are on the Pricing page.
Good to know
- Tips are a share of your sitter's pay, never the fees. Changing the tip changes the service fee for non-members, since that fee is a share of pay plus tip.
- Wyndy credit, such as from Give $20, Get $20, comes off your next booking automatically, with or without a membership.
- If your sitter submits more or fewer hours than you booked, the fees follow the final total.
Questions
Does the membership change what my sitter earns?
No. Your sitter gets the same pay and the same tip. The membership only changes the fees you pay to Wyndy.
Do members pay the late cancellation fee?
Yes. Cancelling less than 24 hours before the start costs $20 either way, because it goes to your sitter.
Is it worth it for the messaging alone?
If you often want to ask a sitter questions before booking, or keep in touch with a regular sitter between jobs, the messaging perks matter as much as the fees. Without a membership, you can still message any sitter you've booked until 24 hours after the job's scheduled end.
