Hello families! My name is Mya S :). I have 5 years of experience working with children of all ages. I am an older sister of twin girls by 9 years, I was the neighborhood babysitter, I mentored middle and elementary students in high school, I was a substitute teacher for a little over a year, and I was a teacher for a 18 month year old classroom. I have a passion for working with and educating the youth! I am currently a junior in college aspiring to be a math professor :). I am energetic, communicative, organized, positive, and a hard worker. I love all animals and have experience working with children with disabilities and behavioral issues. I have about a year and a half of experience babysitting for families in my community. During that time, I cared for children between the ages of 9months-12years, helping with things like meals, playtime, bedtime routines, and homework. I always made sure the kids were safe, engaged, and felt comfortable. While it’s a more informal experience, it taught me a lot about responsibility, patience, and how to build trust with both children and parents.
