I’m currently a pre-nursing major and will be applying to the nursing program at the University of Utah this fall. My passion for caring for others is a big part of why I love working with children.I’ve cared for children of all ages, from newborns and infants to teenagers, and have experience as both a babysitter and a nanny. Hi! My name is Jamie, and I’m a 27-year-old educator who recently moved to Houston this August. I have always loved working with children and feel incredibly lucky that my career has allowed me to make a positive impact on their lives both inside and outside the classroom. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Westminster College and went on to receive my Master’s in Education from Vanderbilt University. I also spent four years teaching first grade at St. Henry’s Elementary School in Nashville, where I gained extensive experience caring for, teaching, and connecting with young children. Before and throughout my teaching career, I also nannied during college, giving me years of hands-on experience working with children in a home setting. In addition to teaching, I coached girl'smiddle school and high school lacrosse for four years. Coaching taught me so much about leadership, patience, communication, and encouraging children to become confident and responsible individuals.
