Hi, my name is Dakota! A little about me: - I’m originally from Pgh and have lived here all my life so I know my way around pretty well.- I’m 19 years old- I graduated from Highschool in 2025- I currently attend the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg going into my Sophomore year.- I work at Hoss’s Steak & Sea in Murrysville working in the salad bar but working my way up to a sever . - I’m 2 times cpr certified took a 6 hour class once when I was 14 and got certified for that and certified a second time during my sophomore year of highschool as part of my health class. I’ve been around and caring for children for most of my life. I started helping take care of my younger brother, who is five years younger than me, when I was 10, and I began babysitting for other families when I was 16.Growing up, my parents were friends with several families in our neighborhood, and we would often have get-togethers and everyone would bring their kids. There would usually be a big group of us together. Some of the kids were around my age, but many were younger, usually around 8 years old and under. When the kids my age weren’t around, I naturally found myself spending time with the younger kids because I genuinely enjoyed being around them. I would play with them, help look after them, and make sure they were included and having fun. It was never something I was forced to do. I chose to spend time with them because I truly enjoyed it.As I got older, the kids grew up too, and I was able to build really special connections with them over the years. They would always be excited to see me at get togethers and come up and hug me or drag me places with them and call my name, and some would even ask their parents where I was if I wasn’t there. Their parents noticed those connections too and would often tell me how great I was with their kids and how much their kids loved being around me. Hearing that from parents and seeing how excited the kids were to spend time with me made me realize even more how much I enjoy caring for children. Those experiences are a big part of why I realized how much I love caring for and working with children, also a big part in why I’m majoring in early education and want to be a elementary school teacher.I’m caring, patient, and responsible, energetic always on my feet and I love finding ways to keep kids entertained and engaged. I enjoy being outside, doing arts and crafts, reading stories to the kids, and finding activities based on what each child enjoys. Most importantly, I want the children I care for to feel safe, comfortable, and happy while also having fun. I look forward to getting to know your family and having the opportunity to help care for your children!
