I’m 20 years old and I am currently enrolled at Joliet Junior College majoring in education. Specifically early childhood, working with children is what I’ve always wanted to do.

I have been babysitting and caring for children for many years, beginning when I was around 10 years old. Over time, I have gained experience working with children of different ages, personalities, and needs. I have babysat for multiple families and have also worked as a nanny for over a year, providing consistent care several days a week. My responsibilities have included preparing meals and snacks, helping with homework, keeping children entertained, organizing activities, assisting with routines, cleaning up after activities and meals, and making sure the children are safe and comfortable. I have experience caring for multiple children at once and understand the importance of being patient, responsible, attentive, and dependable. I enjoy creating a positive and comfortable environment where children can have fun while also following appropriate rules and routines. I like planning activities such as crafts, outdoor play, games, baking, and other age-appropriate activities that keep children engaged. In addition to babysitting, I have experience volunteering in a church nursery, which has given me additional experience caring for younger children. I take my responsibility seriously and understand that parents need someone they can trust to care for their children. Communication with parents is also very important to me, so I make sure they know how the children are doing and communicate any important information. My years of childcare experience have helped me become more confident, responsible, organized, and comfortable working with children.
