About Sage

Hi, I’m Sage! I’m a creative and caring person who loves working with children and helping them learn through art and hands-on activities. Art has always been a huge part of my life. I was the sterling scholar regional winner in Visual Arts, graduated in the top 15 of my class, and am currently an honors student at Snow College. I’m working toward my teaching license because my dream is to become an elementary art teacher. I’ve been fortunate to gain experience working with children in many different settings. I was a first-grade Teacher’s Assistant at Mount Pleasant Elementary for a year, where I helped students with classroom activities and learning. I also created and led an after-school program for a year, planning creative projects and activities for elementary-aged children. I’m currently an intern in the Education Department at the Springville Museum of Art, where I teach and create engaging art experiences for children and families. I also work at the Spring City Art Gallery and have volunteered at local middle schools by helping with art projects, science fairs, and other school activities. One experience that means a lot to me is participating in the Memory Project, where I got the opportunity painted portraits for orphaned children in developing countries. I created a platform called crafting futures that encouraged children to set aside their devices and express themselves through arts and crafts. I’ve also had the opportunity to visit elementary schools to teach students about portrait drawing and lead an interactive art lesson. Whether I’m teaching, creating art, or simply spending time with kids, my goal is always to help them feel safe, confident, and excited to learn.
