Hi! My name is Learys (Lea), I’m 18 years old and a student at the University of South Dakota. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish, and I would describe myself as outgoing, caring, patient, responsible, and creative. I love staying active, doing crafts and activities, being outdoors, and finding ways to make everyday routines fun for kids. I have several years of experience caring for children, including professional experience at the SEE School of Early Childhood Education. I started as a childcare assistant and eventually became a Head Teacher, where I was responsible for groups of children, daily routines, activities, meals, transitions, safety, and creating a fun and welcoming environment. I’ve worked with children across different age groups and am comfortable adapting to different personalities, needs, and routines. Outside of childcare centers, I also have babysitting experience, so I’m comfortable caring for children in their own homes and following each family’s preferences. I can help with meals and snacks, homework, bedtime routines, crafts, games, outdoor play, and keeping things tidy along the way. I’m also comfortable communicating with parents and providing updates while they’re away. Working with children is something I genuinely enjoy, and I love getting to know each child rather than treating babysitting like simply “watching” them. My goal is for parents to feel confident leaving their children with me and for the kids to be excited when they hear I’m coming back!
