About Darcy

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lander University and have extensive experience caring for children from newborns through age 5. My background includes teaching K5 in both public and private schools, teaching preschool 3s and 4s, substitute teaching with children ages 6 weeks–5 years, and working as a full-time nanny for a family of three children, including a newborn. As a mother of two grown sons and the oldest of six children, caring for children has truly been a lifelong part of who I am. I especially love creating a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, loved, encouraged and free to learn through play and exploration. My teaching background includes experience with both Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches. For the past five years, I’ve worked in high-level catering and events, where I’ve managed large events, staff, schedules and constantly changing needs. I’m now excited to return to the work I’ve always loved most—caring for children—and am seeking a nanny position with a wonderful family where I can bring both my professional experience and genuine love of children into their home.
