Hi! My name is Melaina J, and I’m an 18-year-old college student attending Coastal Carolina University. I’ve been babysitting for about 7 years and have experience caring for children of different ages, personalities, and needs. I enjoy working with kids and creating a safe, fun, and comfortable environment. I’m available on weekdays after approximately 2–3 PM, depending on my class schedule, and I’m available all day on weekends. I’m happy to communicate about schedules and childcare needs. Over the years, I’ve babysat for multiple families and gained hands-on experience. The youngest child I’ve cared for was 4 months old, so I’m comfortable with infants and older children. My experience includes bottle feeding, changing diapers, preparing meals, keeping children entertained, helping with routines, and driving kids to practices and activities. One of the most meaningful parts of my childcare experience has been working with a little boy with autism for about 5 years. He is nonverbal, and through my time with him, I’ve learned how to communicate through nonverbal actions, patience, observation, and different ways of engaging with him. This has taught me that every child communicates and learns differently, and that patience and flexibility are extremely important. I am also CPR certified through the American Red Cross. I take caring for children seriously and prioritize their safety and well-being. I understand how important it is for parents to feel confident leaving their children with me. I love getting to know each child individually and finding activities they enjoy, whether that’s playing games, being outside, doing crafts, or talking together. I’m responsible, patient, attentive, and willing to learn each family’s routines and needs. After seven years of babysitting, I consider myself very experienced in childcare and would love the opportunity to become someone your family can trust and rely on.
