About Ashley

I’ve been working with kids for about seven years now. I started babysitting when I was 13, and today I’m 20 and working as an aftercare teacher at AlphaBEST in Cedar Grove. Over the years, I’ve cared for kids ranging from Infants to 12 years old. A little history: I have 6 nephews and 2 nieces which I love dearly and they inspire me everyday to go foward with this field. I did community service my senior year of high school at “Northward Center”, a preschool located in Newark. We did hands on assisting and managing kids for one month. I am CPR certified and I have my certified training through NJCCIS: Health, Safety, Child Development Growth/Basic Requirements Training and Understanding Licensing Regulations. My day-to-day experience covers everything from managing toddler routines and nap times to helping older kids with homework, planning fun activities, and keeping everyone safe. At AlphaBEST, my co-teachers and I look after a big group of over 100 students every afternoon. I honestly just really enjoy being around kids and building strong bonds with them. It’s a big part of why I’m currently in my third year of college studying Early Childhood Education. I love helping kids feel safe, supported, and happy wherever they are.
