About Emily

Hi! I'm Emily, and I'm 25 years old currently in graduate school working toward becoming a speech-language pathologist, ideally in a school setting. I recently completed a clinical placement at Newland Elementary School, where I worked with students from Pre-K through 5th grade alongside an SLP, supporting a wide range of communication needs. That experience really helped me realize how much I love working with kids and confirmed my passion for this field. Before graduate school, I worked as a teacher in a Head Start program in Asheville, teaching in 3-, 4-, and 2-year-old classrooms, and I also have experience working with children as young as 1-year-old. I spent over a year as a nanny for an incredible 6-year-old girl, and I've taught ballet classes for children ages 3-10. I also volunteered at a dance studio for children with disabilities ages 8-13, which strengthened my ability to support kids with diverse needs. I am CPR certified as well.
