About Phoenix

Hi there! My name is Phoenix and I’ve been working with kids for about 10 years in a variety of settings. I’ve been a nanny for the last three years, but my previous roles include preschool teacher, toddler teacher, kindergarten teaching assistant, babysitter, and even gymnastics coach! I’ve completed child development and Kansas State Nursing Assistant coursework. I have experience with all ages and stages, newborn to teenagers! I developed a lot of my childcare philosophy while working at a Reggio Emilia inspired daycare, so I believe in child centered learning within a relationship centered environment. My relationship with my nanny kiddos is just as important as my relationship with you, and yours with them! I’m adept in establishing a routine or schedule, introducing solids, and potty training. I’ve done extensive work with children with ADHD and Autism, and I have performed care for children with high medical needs and severe allergies. I am CPR and First Aid certified with the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association. I love children of all ages and have experience with kids up to age 14, but my heart is truly with kids under 5! Beyond having 5 years of full time experience with this age group, I have such an appreciation for their capacity to learn and grow. I’ve personally seen the difference that early exposure to reading, art, music, daily routines, and personal care can make in children as they progress into their elementary school years and I’ve made it my goal to prioritize these concepts in my nannying approach. More than anything else, I know it takes a lot of hands to raise a child well. It brings me great joy to be part of a family’s support system! I love being able to share some of the responsibility and allow parents to relax knowing their kids and their home are being well cared for. I can’t wait to meet your family!!
