Hello! My name is Khrystauna N. I am originally from St. Louis, MO but reside in Ruston, LA. I currently attend Grambling State University and pursuing my MBA. While I biologically do not have my own children, kids have been a huge part of my life. I am the oldest of 6 kids and I am also a step mother of 2 kids ages 6 and 11. People joke that the oldest sibling is like a second parent, and quite frankly- I could not agree more. I watched each and every one of my siblings every single summer from the ripe age of 12 until the time I left for college. My parents were extremely hard workers and own a salon, they would take about 2-3 siblings while leaving the rest home. I was responsible for meals, activities, and keeping the house in one piece and managed that beautifully. I was paid 40 dollars a week per kid and that’s how I earned my allowance. While it was difficult, I would say that me doing that led to me having really amazing relationships with my siblings and I cherish that more than anything. In my current life, I am the wife to a football coach at Grambling State University and proud step mother of two kids, 6 and 11. Every Thanksgiving break, spring break, and summer break our two kids are with us for as they reside in Arizona. My husband’s schedule is very hectic while my schedule is a little more flexible so the kids opt to stay with me which is fine. We’re extremely routine in the morning- wake up, make bed, hygiene, all while I make breakfast. We do find different activities to do throughout the day, as I try to keep them off of their devices for as long as I can. Some are a bit elaborate like traveling an hour or so to do something- but memories are worth the effort. Being a football coach’s wife with no kids full-time means stepping in to help the other wives with children. I am the emergency contact for the child of our offensive linemen coach’s family and are at their aid any time they need me, especially while expecting during this present time. While mom runs off to doctor’s appointments and dad is still at work- I watch the 4 year old at my home. Another wife who has a baby and two littles- also brings her kids over while she runs errands and I love it. That also applies to taking them to games and watching them while the mamas stay back. I say that community is everything especially in this profession. Overall, I love to help families through anyway I can. With my background experience and awareness, I can assure your child will be in great hands.
