About Raquel

Hello! I believe caring for children is about much more than keeping them safe while their parents are away. I love the joy children bring into the world, and I think we sometimes forget that everything they experience is new to them. Being able to watch a child grow, learn, discover who they are, and feel safe enough to explore is something I genuinely value. I have experience with twins, multiple children, toddlers, school-age kids, and a child on the spectrum. I’ve babysat for family, friends, and coworkers, and have helped teach children ages 5–17 through my church. I’m comfortable with pickups/drop-offs, homework, meals, errands, activities, bedtime routines, and caring for multiple children. My approach is patient, attentive, and adaptable. When a child is upset, I try to understand what they’re communicating, help them regulate their emotions, and give them space to express what they need. I enjoy reading, crafts, outdoor play, games, baking, and hands-on activities that encourage creativity and problem-solving while limiting screen time. Communication with parents is very important to me. I want to understand your routines, expectations, boundaries, and parenting style so I can follow them respectfully and consistently. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and pictures throughout the day so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I’m fluent in both English and Spanish and recently began pursuing my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, with the goal of becoming a third-grade teacher. My program is primarily online, and I’ll communicate important school dates in advance while ensuring my education never interferes with my responsibilities to your family. I’m flexible and understand that schedules can change. With clear communication, I’m happy to accommodate changing needs whenever possible. Ultimately, I want your family to feel that you found someone trustworthy, dependable, respectful, and genuinely invested in your child. I don’t just care for the child, I care about making sure you feel supported and comfortable too. (6+ years of experience)
