About Amber

My very first job was working in a daycare, and I've loved working with kiddos ever since! I've always found that I connect with children easily, no matter their age, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know their personalities, interests, and little quirks. My goal is always to make babysitting feel fu and comfortable for the kids while also giving parents peace of mind. I've also worked as a tutor consistently throughout school, so homework help and keeping up with schoolwork are no problem! I graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in Psychology, where I took several courses focused on childhood development. I love finding ways to make learning fun and meeting kids where they're at. Outside of childcare, I am happy to help out around the hosue, whether that means making dinner (I'm a great cook!), tidying up after the kids, doing dishes, or just making sure things are a little easier for everyone. I love cooking and don't mind getting creative with meals (including working around picky eaters!). Most importantly, I want the families I work with to feel like they can trust me. I'm patient, responsible, and attentive, and I treat every child as an individual. Whether your little one wants to play pretend for three hours, needs help with their math homework, or just needs someone to make them feel safe while you're away, I'm happy to be that person!
