Hi I'm Meka and I am looking for a part time nanny position. I am currently working as a Resident Assistant at the Alabama School of Fine Arts with ages ranging from 12-18 and have been doing that for the past 2 years. In my current resident assistant role, my number one priority is keeping kids safe while also driving them to get groceries, hosting educational programs each semester, and connecting with them so they know they have an adult in their corner. I have have over 10 years of child care experience. For about a year I was an Au Pair in Germany taking care of three children ages 7, 10, and 12, while also assisting them with online school due to Covid 19. I am experienced in care giving as well as driving. I was responsible for taking 3 boys under the age of 10 to school as well as taking picking up a 13 year old girl from school and taking her to fencing classes. Most recently, I’ve driven a 16 year old to and from school and soccer practice while also staying the night when her mom was out of town to ensure safety. Over the summer I interned for a political campaign in Missouri. I was a canvasser so I was constantly driving and/or picking up others who wanted to canvass. I love interacting with kids and watching their personalities grow and I believe that education is one of the most important thing to give to children. I went to the Alabama School of Fine Arts high school for Math and Science and graduated from Oglethorpe University with an Economics, which makes it very easy for me to help kids with their homework. I've worked with numerous families in the past and worked at the Anytown Alabama summer camp as well as with Girls Inc and can provide references if desired. I am fully vaccinated and I take this responsibility very seriously. I look forward to meeting you and your kids!
