About Ruquyah

Hi, I’m Ruquyah , and I’ve been working in childcare for over 5 years. My journey began in the classroom at Northern Virginia Community College, where I studied Early Childhood Education and developed a strong foundation in child development, influenced by the theories of Erikson and Piaget. I was especially drawn to the immersion play model—believing that children learn best through natural curiosity and hands-on exploration. After two years of academic study, I gained hands-on experience in childcare centers and public schools, working with children from infancy through age 10. These experiences deepened my commitment to developmentally appropriate practices and strengthened my ability to connect with children of all ages. Currently, I’m continuing my education at Trinity Washington University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with the goal of becoming a labor and delivery nurse. I’m passionate about nurturing children’s growth and creating safe, engaging environments where they can thrive.
