About Megan

Hi! My passion for working with children began when I worked as a babysitter during my senior year of high school. Since then, I have gained several years of experience supporting children in educational, recreational, and caregiving settings. After graduating from UC Davis, I returned to working with children through my role as an aide at a public library, where I led weekly Family Storytimes using stories, songs, and my ukulele to engage young children and their families. I also completed 3 units in Child Development through my local community college. My experience includes serving as a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) instructional aide for children ages 4-5, an after-school program assistant supporting students in grades 2-5, and a summer program assistant working with 12 rising kindergarteners. I have also helped lead engaging and musical experiences for children ages 0-5 through singing, songs, and interactive participation. Today, I work as an elementary school librarian, where I interact with students Pre-K through 5th grade. I enjoy creating welcoming experiences through a greeting song on my ukulele, read-alouds, and learning about students’ interests as they check out books from the library. I would say families appreciate my caring and enthusiastic nature. I strive to create a safe, positive environment where children feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged to have fun.
