About Alexa

Hey there! I’m 22 years old with an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Montevallo. I am RBT (ABA therapy) and CPR/AED/First Aid certified. I have a clean driving record and no criminal background. I have 8 months experience working with children with disabilities (Autism, age 2-6, primarily boys) and 2+ years of overall babysitting experience (infant & preschool age, girls). I am comfortable working with kiddos who engage in more difficult/maladaptive behaviors and nonverbal kiddos. I do not have experience with visually or hearing impaired kiddos but am willing to learn! I know basic ASL and am fluent in PECS & AAC devices. Some fun facts about me: 1. I will 100% sit with your kiddos and watch kids shows (I love them and I’m not ashamed) 2. I love arts and crafts, as well as fun activities that foster creativity and critical thinking (puzzles, board games, coloring, etc) 3. I love making mundane & boring tasks fun for the kiddos (and myself) by creating games and adding a silly element to them 4. I love learning and fostering a nurturing environment where kiddos can thrive! 5. I will be starting my master’s program for psychology in the Fall, but will still be readily available!
