In addition to my personal experience, I also worked part time as a competitive cheerleading coach. I took one formal year of a child development class in high school, where I looked after kids from 7mo-5 years of age for a few hours every day for the entire year. I have also worked as a mentor for high school-aged students on the speech and debate/forensics team at my high school, in addition to looking after my cousins growing up. I have also taken a few child development classes at my alma mater, UW-Madison, focused on how children learn using art education. I volunteered last summer with a nonprofit in Wisconsin to create healthy breakfast menus for their summer program that feeds kids from 0-12 years of age.
