Hello I am DJ. I just turned 24. I have been wanting to get into child care for a long time as I have been doing extensive research into adopting my own child someday . This will give me the perfect opportunities to prepare for my future child. I have been hired previously at a local YMCA to help children with homework and afterschool activities. I have babysat my toddler cousins almost every summer while I was in school. I currently occasionally babysit 6-year-old boy girl twins and a 4-year-old brother and 1-year-old sister. There has been times where I housesat and babysit 2 dogs for my manager while they went on vacation for a week. I own a little dog of my own she is 4 years old. I have had my CPR certifications and will continue to renew as that is very important skill to have when dealing with children. I’m an incoming sophomore at Rollins College in Orlando on an academic scholarship and I am planning to become a child therapist in the future after earning my doctorate in psychology. My past experience working with children includes; babysitting 3-6 year olds but I am comfortable with working with any age, working as a character actor as the grinch, and as a counselor at a drama camp and a leadership camp. I’ve played several sports including; baseball, football, and basketball as well as participated as an officer in JROTC, chorus, academic team, and I participate in several different “nerdy” activities such as chess, trading card games, and I spend a lot of time reading books. I’ve also helped to raise my little sister who is three years younger than me and I would often babysit her. I can take interest and participate in whatever activity your child is most interested in. I live in cocoa beach during the summer and at Rollins during the school year so I am looking to babysit in the Brevard area during the summer and the Winter Park/Orlando area during the school year.
