I have always enjoyed children. After I had my second child, I opened up a daycare from my home and ran that for 6 years. Now I have four kids ranging from 9-18 and I am a Girl Scout troop leader for 40+ girls. I love planning activities for kids and encouraging healthy habits. My own boys are special needs and I am specifically experienced with Autism and Down Syndrome. I also volunteer with a special needs basketball league and love working with people of all abilities. I am first aide certified.

My babysitting experience began when I was 13 years old. I babysat for several families in my church and community, ages ranging from 6 months to 11 years old. That experience continued throughout college where I worked for a few families with kids under 2. After college I have had three jobs all involving children. One being a babysitting job for a 1 year old, another job at the boys & girls club with middle schoolers, and a teacher’s assistant for special education high school students. I graduated college with a bachelors in sociology. It opened my eyes to just how important the family unit is and especially the development of children. I want to use my education and experience in childcare to be a positive support in the difficult task of raising children. I have found that not only my education and experience has been useful in childcare but my artistic and creative abilities. It has allowed me to connect with kids on a more engaging level without being too reliant on technology.
