They are so curious, observant, full of life, and open to adventures. I always follow the parents' wishes. In advance I ask and make sure I know what their child likes (and doesn'). It gives me joy to take a child on a walk, in the fresh air and sunshine. My goal is to make everybody happy, keep the child safe, and occupied. We draw, paint, read, dance, listen to music, and act silly. It helps when the parents have the kind of food ready that the child likes. I follow nap time schedules and meals. I don't just watch a child but fully participate in their favored activities. I am a babysitter, not a nanny. Thus, my job is to take care of the child and not be distracted by housework.
