Hi! My name is Ja’Torri Phillips, and I’m a college student majoring in Social Work. I have a natural love for caring for children and creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. With my background in social work, I understand the importance of patience, communication, and building trust with both kids and parents. I’m reliable, responsible, and always ready to help with daily routines, homework, or just keeping little ones entertained and happy.

I have been babysitting children since I was 12 years old. I am 36 now and I have worked for numerous daycares and families over the last 23 years. I have been a nanny to 4 families including 3 years for a wonderful family in the Metairie area caring for their sweet boy from the time he was 11 months until he was 4 and entered Pre-K. Most recently, I was a nanny to a set of 3 year old boy triplets. There have been many other families sprinkled throughout the years, as well. I am trained in emergency care; I received my EMT-Basic certification my senior year of high school before I received my high school diploma. My certifications are not up-to-date, as I have changed my career paths (criminal justice with plans for something in the legal field), but I do still have the knowledge of care. I am absolutely willing to be recertified in CPR, if that would make you and your family feel more comfortable. I do have my COVID vaccination, as well. I am a lifelong resident of Slidell and I am very familiar with the St. Tammany Parish and New Orleans areas. I have 7 nieces and nephews, but I am single with no children of my own. I also have no problem with pets; my family owned many different dogs when I was growing up and I even worked at a dog grooming salon for a while. Chihuahuas to Pitts, dogs are perfectly fine with me! I have my own reliable transportation and many references upon request.
