grew up attending alternative schools which highlighted self directed learning: homeschooling, sudbury education, a college that didn't offer grades. This allowed me to maintain my sense of self and imbue it into my academic interests (writing, reading, theater, etc.) A foundation I still draw from today. While I was pursuing these interests in college, I started working at The Early Learning Center on campus.This introduced me to the Reggio Emilia technique, a natural fit. My time working in the infant room was enlightening, as I was introduced to the limitless nature of what childcare can be. I enjoyed cultivating that classroom through various materials, sounds, and questions for the students.A safe space where they were supported and encouraged to take risks.I believe community is everything.
