About Joanne
Growing up, I regularly cared for toddlers in my church nursery during morning and evening services, an experience that taught me patience and attentiveness. During high school, I also tutored K–5 students in math at a local prep academy for a year, helping young learners build foundational skills in the classroom. As a pre-medical student, I volunteered in the Pediatric Cardiology EKG Lab at Michigan Medicine for three years, where I performed EKG and pulse oximetry tests on pediatric patients. Working directly with children in a clinical setting deepened my ability to comfort children and keep them at ease during procedures. I am also AHA CPR Provider certified! Lastly, I have a year of paid part-time experience with babysitting for children of family friends, church community, and colleagues.
