I love cooking, baking, and anything artsy, and I’m also the oldest of three siblings.Along with babysitting my sisters, I spent summers in Brooklyn helping my aunt, who worked as a daycare nurse, caring for kids of all ages. I am originally from Chicago but I came to Nashville for school I went to Tennessee State University and graduated with my bachelors in health science . I aspire to be a pediatric nurse practitioner my heartfelt affinity with children has always been evident, and I envision dedicating my life to working with them. Hi My name is Melae’ I am a D1 volleyball player at Tennessee state! I major in psychology. I am wanting to create bonds and relationships with families, building trust and a foundation is important to me, and overall wanting to help the community out in any way possible! I love going to the gym, figure skating, spending time with my family and friends, reading, and baking in my free time. I have a little sister who is 10, so lots of experience with kids! I helped care for her frequently growing up, so I know how to work with and engage children in every developmental stage. I’ve also worked in childcare since I was 12, starting as a mother's helper and a volunteer in my church’s childcare program. During that time I spent two years working with infants and babies, a year in the 2-year-old classroom, and several years with the three and four-year-olds. Additionally, throughout much of middle school, and all of high school I babysat regularly for many families in my community. I’ve also nannied for two families. The first family had a 5 and 7-year-old that I worked with for two years, and the second family had a 6-month-old that I cared for two summers ago. I am comfortable providing care for children of all ages and planning engaging, educational activities and outings for them.
