I’m a 19-year-old college student who genuinely enjoys spending time with kids and making sure they have a fun, safe, and comfortable time while their parents are away! I’ve had the opportunity to babysit for a family of boys for the past two summers. During the day, I would make lunch, take them to the park and other places, and come up with things to do to keep them entertained. I’ve also babysat a brother and sister from time to time for a few hours, where we would make up games, play together, and find fun ways to spend our time. I also have experience as a daycare teacher, which gave me even more experience working with children and taught me how to be patient, responsible, and creative when it comes to keeping kids happy and engaged. It was an experience I really enjoyed and learned a lot from! I’m currently attending Northwest Shoals Community College and plan to transfer to the University of North Alabama to study Social Work. I’m a caring, responsible, and easygoing person, and I love getting to know each child’s personality and finding activities they enjoy. Whether it’s playing outside, doing crafts, coming up with silly games, or just hanging out, I’m always happy to make babysitting a fun experience! Hi I'm Emily! I'm 25 and I transferred to Auburn from Mobile two years ago. I recently graduated from Auburn in August with a Bachelor of Arts. I have babysat during the summers for families for four years when I was in high school. I have babysat for two families. The first family the kids were twins and they were 5 years old. The second family had four children and their ages were 2, 4, 7, and 10.I love the fascination and curiosity of children. I enjoy helping kids. That includes helping them learn basic life skills, assisting with homework, and learning about their natural world around them. Hi my name is Abigail B and I recently graduated with a Bachelors degree in Social Work in December! I have been working with children since the age of 15 and nannying for over 6 years, and absolutely love it! I have been living in South America doing mission work on an island revolving around youth as well. I just helped community mothers build the islands first ever “First Infancy” that includes all of the necessities for mothers and children up to age 3. I have worked with youth who have disabilities/special needs, infants in the preschool/day care setting, as well as youth ranging from kindergarten to 6th grade. My work has consisted of babysitting, camp counseling, after-school childcare, transportation, coordinating activities for certain age groups, changing diapers/cleaning up accidents, feeding time, outside play time, creating age appropriate crafts/activities, etc. I have worked in a preschool for a little over a year in both the infant classroom and the 2-year-old classroom. I learned the many developmental milestones infants and toddlers should be achieving and how to achieve those skills. I was taught to take active notes throughout the day when watching over younger children to ensure the parent/guardian knows everything that went on throughout our days together. These notes consisted of outside time, feeding times, potty times, indoor activities for brain and physical development, and many other details of the child’s day. Interning at DHR and working at the only homeless youth shelter in central Alabama, has allowed me to work closely with licensed social workers in extreme situations for a little over a year now. I have acquired many emotion regulation skills and techniques that are extremely beneficial for the still developing child brain. I am extremely passionate about the youth of today, their safety, their happiness, and their quality of life. I hope I can help you and your family out! I am CPR certified I speak some Spanish
