Hello! My name is Nyja and I am new to Wyndy and super excited to start! I am originally from Chicago, IL but moved to NOLA 4 years ago. I am a wife to my husband, Alex who is currently getting his Chemistry degree at XULA.I am also a mom to my fur baby, Beaux and Nellie! (Toy Australian Shepards) I have always enjoyed working with children whether it be volunteering at church in childrens ministry or babysitting the children of friends/family/acquaintances! I was a preschool/kindergarten teacher for special education at Bridgedale Elementary School my first year out of college! I now work for Samford’s School of the Arts as the event coordinator, the recruiting season is slowing down so I would love to start helping families that need an extra set of hands for the summer.I’ve nannied and babysat casually for many families in Birmingham over the past 2 1/2 years! I am a middle child of 7, and have a wide array of experience, spanning from ages 5 months to 14 years. I am a mom of a four year old girl who I have taken care of as a stay at home mom, and though she is starting school, and it is time for me to find work, I wanted to find something I could use both my passion of being a mom and kiddos paired with my Spanish and childcare background! I teach my kiddo all kinds of words, numbers, and Spanish through play based learning! I have experience all the way back to my teen years with working in my fathers church nursery and having two younger sisters, along with in high school working in elementary schools for my co op teaching ESL! Covid hit right when I graduated college and actually landed a teaching job, then not long after I had my kiddo! I still have a passion for kiddos and learning through play though!

Hi! I'm 21 and I attend Belmont University and I am a psychology major with a social justice minor. I have six years of experience babysitting ages ranging from 6 months to 12 years old. I also previously worked at a daycare where I mainly cared for ages from 2-8 years old. I am very familiar with watching multiple kids at once. I have my CPR certification, (CNA)nursing assistant certification, my own transportation, I have experience working in a group home with at risk youth in the foster care system.
