My name's Aysu(i-sue), I'm a 22 year old Turkish American, currently studying Animal Science at Rutgers University; with 3 cats & 2 birds in my home, heavy on the pet friendly! I've done babysitting for families in my neighborhood a few years ago as a pass time during my after-school hours of highschool. My work hours agreed upon were from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, and occasionally extended to 8:30pm in case anyone was running late for dinner. If not for friends, I'd find myself sitting my families younger children(mainly cousins) ranging from the ages of 2y/o to 14y/o, boys and girls alike. I made it my duty to maintain proper etiquette around the kids, identifying their tastes in toys and entertaining activities, while incorporating daily chores and assignments throughout our time spent together. Managing their fun time like watching TV shows, playing games, crafting projects, and reading stories was equally offset by establishing a main hour to work for completing tasks set by parents & teachers. I'd make cleaning up after their breaks an essential part in their journey towards self-sufficiency! With sing along music from Disney tracks and a simple reward system such as earning a snack(when provided and permissed) for doing a basic yet important task. I was able to keep the kids engaged and preoccupied before their parents returned home for the day. Moving forward I'd like to continue doing the same for those in need of service.
