Hi parents!I’m Catherine.I’m 20 years old, and am currently a junior at Vassar College, where I am studying Education and English.I have been working with children of all ages for many years, and I am hoping to eventually work a special education and reading teacher. As the oldest of four children, I have 12+ years of babysitting experience from ages 0-18.I also have tutoring and teaching experience with children ages 6-16, and experience working with children with ADHD, dyslexia, and other behavioral disorders and developmental delays.I am also familiar with bottle feeding, changing diapers, and getting kids ready for bedtime and school.I have worked as a CIT with children from ages 4-14 throughout middle and high school.Since starting college, I have worked as a Sunday school teacher, a homework tutor at the Poughkeepsie Public Library, a teaching and classroom assistant at the on-campus Wimpfheimer Nursery, as well as a private reading tutor to one student at Warring Elementary School in Poughkeepsie.This past summer I was an AmeriCorps Member, volunteering as a teaching fellow through Generation Teach in Boston, MA where I received two weeks of training, and taught 2 reading and 1 art class a day to a total of 30 fourth grade students, for 4 weeks.I am CPR / AED / First Aid Trained and Certified from infants to adults.I myself have an Epi-Pen for an acute tree nut allergy, so I am well versed in how to recognize early signs of an allergic reaction and how administer multiple different brands of Epinephrine Auto-Injectors.I have a full driver's license and am an experienced driver, so I would be happy to help with pick up and drop off.I would love to get to take care of your children like they're my own, and I will make sure everyone has a fun, safe time.I am currently available all mornings and most afternoons and evenings.Please contact me if you have any questions, or would like to set up a time to talk.I look forward to hearing from you!
