By no means am I a recent college graduate, but I have been highly involved with my best friend's now 8 year old son, whom she adopted at birth. I have sat for him several times over a 4 year period! I also babysit my neighbor's 5 year old son. I am really great with kids, and my most recent work is as a disaster case manager supporting wildfire survivors. In the early days, I spent time watching kids in shelters as part of our approved work, so I am used to all types of kids with different issues, including trauma. I was also a Big Sister for Jewish Big Brothers and Sisters, although my Little was in high school. That is a vetted program where I had monthly check ins with the organization. I am extremely creative, fun, amd love to organize special and unique outings that are budget friendly and tailored to the child! Last week I took my neighbor's 5 year old to Home Depot and we embarked on a gardening project once returning home. My biggest strength is my sense of humor and creating laughter for kids. I also love turning kids on to creative activities, especially in nature, and creating fun surprise "challenges" for adults to discover upon returning home (this could be something as simple as a word puzzle with individual letters on egg carton containers).
