Hello! I'm Danielle and I live in Fairbanks but grew up in Wisconsin. I've been providing childcare to neighbors and family friends since I was 12 years old, after taking a babysitting summer school program. In high school, I was with the same family and child for 4 years, 1-2 times per week, and I now have the pleasure of being adult friends with them! I have cared for children with autism and children who have experienced loss in their immediate family, each for several years. While in graduate school, I had (have) a little sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters for 4 years and continue to keep in touch. We had the best time cooking together, ice skating, snowboarding, playing board games, and adventuring outdoors! Hanging out with your kids is one of the best ways to work play into both of our days! If it's pre-bedtime hours, we'll be doing activities, exploring outdoors, playing games, crafting, cooking, reading, or working on homework - I'm not a big TV watcher, so we'll likely be doing something fun and engaging, or learning something new together. I currently attend the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and am looking for a job for this coming summer that could hopefully go into the following school year! For the past two years, when I have not been at college, I would be working in my hometown, Spooner, at a learning center called Creative Kids. I got a lot of experience working with infants ranging from 4 months - 1 year and also toddlers 1-3 years. When I would be in the infant room, I would bottle feed, support developmental activities (i.e. tummy time, sensory play, and interactive play), along with introducing to foods. In the toddler room we would do a lot of outdoor play, crafts, and pretend play. I also occasionally got to work with the kindergarteners with their school activities! I enjoy being with kids and doing fun age-appropriate activities! I am also certified to be a daycare teacher, and have taken CPR and first aid training.
