Hello, Wyndy family members! My name is Daniel M and I am beyond thrilled to be your sitter - I cannot wait to begin supporting you! I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but lived in Fayetteville, Arkansas before moving here to Tulsa in 2019. While living in Fayetteville, I attended the University of Arkansas and graduated with majors in Political Science, Criminal Justice, Sociology, and African and African-American Studies. Yes, that is four (4) majors – no minors – but it was five (5) before I dropped Spanish! Since I was a teenager, I have always enjoyed working with children. I have always had a passion for both education and children, but never once imagined that I’d become a teacher in any capacity. When I was 13, I served on an advisory board partnered with the University of Pennsylvania and taught lesson plans over healthy eating habits, amongst other skills, to younger children. Years later, I was the assistant director for the children’s section of my church in Arkansas. In college, I continued with my love for teaching as a tutor and learning assistant for student-athletes. After thinking about all of these experiences and others, as well as the impact I was able to make, I decided to commit to a career in education and began my first year of teaching in a classroom at College Bound Academy Charter School. While there, I taught English Language Arts and was able to develop my skills working with students with learning and academic disabilities. I am excited to meet and work with you soon!
