Hello! My name is Emily and I am currently a junior at the University of Missouri. I am studying nursing and want to specialize in pediatrics. I have 8+ years of childcare experience and have worked with a wide range of ages. My experience began as a babysitter but I have also worked as an aftercare teacher at a local elementary school for 3 years and currently work in the nursery at a local church. Patience is the most important thing when helping young children grasp and work through their emotions. Even if it is difficult, it is the duty of the caretaker to act as a calm and steady center to best guide children through the difficult stages of development. I believe children need structure, understanding, and engaged play to truly thrive. While not every child is the same, all children deserve to be shown utmost kindness. There are many things a child will not understand or can't yet, but it's the caretaker's job to help them navigate the world to the best of their ability.
