After-School Family Assistant / Math Homework Helper — Woodley Park (steps from Metro) — $25–28/hr, 15–20 hrs/wk
Warm Woodley Park family of five seeks a part-time family assistant — ideal for a college student or recent grad who enjoys kids and is strong academically. Think of it as a hybrid of after-school sitter, homework coach, and an extra pair of hands.
The kids: three great girls — a 7th grader, a 5th grader, and a toddler. You'd be working with all three, so genuine comfort with little kids (not just tweens) matters.
Schedule (~ 15 hrs/week, starting ASAP):
3-4 weekday afternoons, roughly 4 - 8 PM
Occasional additional evenings or weekends by arrangement
What you'd do:
After-school care: snacks, ensuring homework gets completed
Assist 5th and 7th grader with homework.. Need to have ability to tutor 7th grader on advanced math assignments. Spanish language skills a plus.
Play and care for our toddler typically starting after 5:30, including sometimes picking her up from her school in Dupont Circle — an easy Metro or bus ride from our house (no car needed)
Light tidying connected to the kids
no driving required


Easy commute: we're in Woodley Park, a short walk from the Woodley Park–Zoo Metro (Red Line).
You:
College student or young grad, reliable and communicative
Experience with preschool-age kids
Capable tutor for 7th grade math; Spanish language skills a plus
Two references; we'll run a standard background check
Looking for a regular, ongoing commitment through the school year
