Seeking a nurturing and responsible babysitter in Berkeley.

Pay: $19 - $24 per hour
Start Date: Flexible
Location: Berkeley, CA
Job Description

We're a family of four looking for a warm, energetic, and reliable weekend babysitter to join our routine starting September 19. We have two girls — a 14-week-old and a 3.5-year-old — plus a very friendly but protective female Staffordshire Terrier mix, so comfort around dogs is a must.

What You'd Be Doing

This is a full-time weekend role with a mix of childcare and light household support, including:

Caring for one or both girls (sometimes together, sometimes one at a time depending on naps/activities)
Light housework: dishes, laundry, general tidying
Keeping up with a very active toddler — think Sunday morning trips to the Temescal Farmers Market, where you should be ready to (playfully) chase her around!
Occasionally helping get one of the girls to/from an appointment or activity

What We're Looking For

Experience with infants and toddlers
Physically fit and able to keep up with a high-energy 3.5-year-old
Comfortable and confident around dogs
Reliable and punctual
Own a car or hold a valid driver's license (occasional need to help transport a child)
Available Saturdays and Sundays, 8 AM–5 PM, with occasional flexibility for a later shift (we would pay an increased rate for extended nights out)
Compensation & Details

Pay: Negotiable based on experience
Pay schedule/method: Flexible, at your preference — we've typically paid via Venmo or Zelle
Hours: ~18 hours/week (occasional additional hours for evening coverage)
Start date: Saturday, September 19
Commitment: Seeking someone able to commit to at least one year; we want to minimize disruptions for our children, who get attached to their caregivers
