About Gennessa

Hi, I’m Gennessa! I’ve been caring for children for over 20 years, starting as a babysitter at age 13. I have experience with children from newborn through 12 years old and truly enjoy creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for them. I do not have children of my own, but I absolutely love being around kids and building positive relationships with the families I work with! I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Development and completed graduate coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis, the study of behavior, including work focused on autism. For 8 years I worked professionally with children and adolescents with autism and other co-occurring conditions, supporting learners from 18 months to 16 years old. This experience helped me develop strong skills in patience, communication, structure, and managing a wide range of behaviors, including higher-risk situations. While my career path has since shifted, I now work full time at UW-Green Bay as a Program Coordinator in the Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Training. Even though my day-to-day work is different now, I still truly enjoy spending time with kids and providing dependable, thoughtful care for families when they need it!
