About Kalie

Hello! I'm Kalie, 18 years old and a freshman at EWU, majoring in Secondary English Education. I've been officially working in childcare for 2 years, but I've known since I was a little kid that I wanted to work with youth. One of my parents' favorite stories to tell is that when I was 6 years old, right after my first day of summer camp, I told them I was going to be a camp counselor. True to my word, I did! For the past two years, I worked the school year as an after-school assistant at a preschool, and the summers as first an intern and then a counselor at a Girl Scout summer camp. I also have a lot of training in working with children, and unofficial experience. As a kid, I used to love helping my parents lead my sisters' Girl Scout troop, and I had three summers of leadership training for GS summer camps. Overall, I would love to continue to work with children while I'm in college, and continue to gain experience in childcare.
